Most comprehensive work available in the English language on Caliph Omar R.A.

I read this book from cover to cover. It is the most comprehensive work available in the English language on this topic. This is a must read for people who are trying to understand how the Islamic Justice System operated at the time.
Moreover I found out that this author has tried his best to utilize all the authentic resources available in compiling this work. The book, not only gives the biography of Omar RA, but also at the same time serves to give background information regarding certain Quranic verses, which makes it all the more interesting!
I would suggest, the other commentator to give this book another try....read it with an open mind, cover to cover.

I am not a scholar, but when the writer uses the Quran to highlight nauzobilla faults of the Holy Prophet saw, what kind of review do you accept.

Another Tool For My Wife's Well-Being Toolbox!

I'm the 'wife' in the headline and had to write this review because I LOVE this book! I've always enjoyed receiving letters (not bills) and the tactile feeling of opening the letters in this book brings back the memories of letters past from my own dynamic mother. The simple letters contained in this book are concise and written with heartfelt wisdom summoning one's soul to reflect, and spirit to lift when...life hurts. The book has the resonance of receiving a letter from a wise and loving parent. I would highly suggest this book for anyone who needs a quick little boost. Thank you Karen for yet another uplifting book! LOVE IT! :)

CPR FOR THE SOUL- OPEN AS NEEDED

I have been a longtime fan of Karen Salmansohn, mainly because she is the "real deal" and is not embarrassed to admit that she HAS experienced everything she writes about, FIRST HAND.

I have learned more from her than I have from speaking to professionals with PhD's and MDs, because she is so empathetic and non-judge mental. As a result, I always feel so connected to her ideas, especially bc of her use of down-to-earth language.
I love how Karen doesn't use a filter when writing and many of her quotes remind me of things I wish I could say, but don't feel "ballsy" enough to say it out loud. This makes one feel understood and reassured to not feel alone, especially when you think you are the ONLY one with that thought pattern.

I pre-ordered 3 copies of the book and bought 2 as gifts. Upon arrival, I gave all 3 copies to different individuals, who were grieving tragic deaths. I didn't have words of comfort for them, but the book did. They were very appreciative for that.

From an organizational standpoint, I love the way that the book is divided by different feelings and you can go straight to a "specific emotion" you need support with.

This is the type of book that every person should have at least two copies of in his/her home, AT ALL TIMES. One copy for yourself, and one for someone needing help and comfort immediately (similar to frozen chicken soup in your freezer, for when you or your neighbor get ill)❤

I do not like reading and yet I LOVE this book. I highly recommend it !✌️☀️

The Hillier's Motor Vehicle Fundamentals Book 1, is one of the best study books I have ever used. It gives you detailed information on how vehicle components work and what they are for, without getting too complicated. It describes elements in such an easy way you'd wouldn't believe you didn't understand it before. I have used other study books that I didn't really understand but the Hillier's book helped me so much that I probably wouldn't have passed Motor vehicles level 1 at college. The book gets straight to the point with an easy to use index and titled paragraphs I'd recommend this to anyone studying Motor Vehicle Technology at college or even if you just want to learn something new and you don't really need to know a lot about cars to understand this book unlike any other books. HORRIBLE- and i never leave bad reviews.

The textbook came NEW in seemingly perfect condition. I have used the book for 2 WEEKS and without any signs of wear the pages are just falling out! Unbelievable, I have to use this textbook every day for the next 6 months like this? Horrible.

Unacceptable binding quality

Multiple pages began separating from the binding less than 2 months from purchase. This led to entire sections falling out. Discovered numerous typographical errors in each chapter studied during my first semester. Contacted the publisher about the defective binding and they actually sent a replacement within the week. That made me feel like more of a satisfied customer until I opened the package to find that they actually sent out another defective book to replace my original defective book. Upon receiving the new copy I noticed that about 30 pages were actually upside down and that those pages were cropped short. Unbelievable! Contacted the company again upon this discovery and demanded a complimentary digital copy. They agreed and I received access to Pageburst edition within about 10 days. If your book is falling apart, do not hesitate to contact the publisher to demand a replacement.

Only been using the book for two weeks and the first chapter rips out.... definatly looks like more will rip out soon. if you pay alot of money for a book you should ATLEAST get a good month out of it before it rips out pages! Not sure how this is gonna last me 2 years.

A must for lovers of enduring luxury labels!

A beautiful, well researched book that gives a very good history about the trailblazers of the luxury fashion. The pictures are lovely to look at and the narrative very readable and informative. In a world of mass market fashion, copy-cat labels and cheap, poorlyconstructed and often unethical offshore manufactuing, it really does inspire the thought that life is often about quality rather than quantity - and simplicity - it does not necessarily mean paying top dollar for 'it' fashion of the moment. I especially liked the personal pride and artisan skill of the companies profiled. A must have for a fashion history library.

Beatrice! Beatrice!! Beatrice!!!

Not the strongest of his volumes so far. But it adds to the mystery of the Books dedications. So far we know the following: 1) Beatrice, the author's "darling' is dead. 2)Beatrice asked too late, "Where is Count Olaf"? 3) His friend, Professor Reed, painted a triptych titled "What Happened to Beatrice". On one panel is a fire, on the second panel is a typewriter, on the third is "the face of a beautiful, intelligent woman." 4)A man - "not, alas, me" - is lucky enough to marry his beloved Beatrice and live with her in happiness over the course of her short life. 5)At the Duchess of Winnipeg's' masked ball, he is pursued by palace guards. He approaches a woman he had been forbidden to approach for the rest of his life. She is alone on the Veranda. He gives her the message he had been trying to give her for fifteen long and lonely years: "Beatrice," he cries, just as the Palace guards spot him; "Count Olaf is .........." He cannot go on. AND,6)Esme wants to steal from the Baudelaire orphans "the way Beatrice stole from me."
So, if I am not too nervous, I shall wait anxiously for the next volume to continue to enlighten the various levels of mysteries contained herein.....

Not suspenseful enough for me. (Some spoilers!)

I bought all 13 books already with my own money, so i intend to finish the series, but it's hard when these books are sometimes not interesting enough. This book has some suspense like V.F.D. and the Ersatz elevator shaft leading to the remains of the Baudelaire mansion, but it seems that it was not as suspenseful as the 5th book for some reason. I think that these books will become more suspenseful and interesting as the series continues, but right now it is just not to that point. I think this series is good so far, but the plot is overly repeated, so as that the reader and almost guess to what is exactly going to happen. I think/know that the Harry Potter series is better then this series. You should read that series if you want a real good read with a lot of suspense, interest, and magic.

Good...but you can go even deeper

Over the past 25 years, I've chased just about every self-improvement idea there is. While I think the affirmations and visualization that Mike Dooley teaches can help, I know there are millions of people who've faithfully practiced these techniques and found that they did not provide the full answer. The reason is that no matter how much people practice visualization and affirmations, negative programs in the subconscious still hold them back from realizing their dreams. If you've ever experienced crushing disappointments and setbacks even if you've followed the positive thinking routine, you know what I'm talking about.

Here's where I stopped chasing:

What really split the atom for me was learning about techniques that allow you to rid your mind of limiting beliefs rather than trying to shout them down. These modalities include Sedona, Release Technique, and Holoponopono. I'd also highly recommend reading The Power of Now and then learn to put it into practice by reading Beyond Happiness by Frank Kinslow.

I remember many years ago reading books by Robert Anthony, Denis Waitley, Tony Robbins, Norman Vincent Peale, Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy and scores of others. I also read New Thought books from around the turn of the century by folks like Ernest Holmes, Ralph Waldo Trine, and William Wattles. Looking back at everything I've read in the Law of Attraction genre (which I think Manifesting Change falls into) nothing impacted me as much as "The Master Key System" by Charles Haanel. Do a Google search and you'll be able to download this MASTERPIECE for free as it is in the public domain. That, as well as Mike's book will give you a good foundation. Then...to get to the next level explore some of my other recommendations.

Manifesting Change: It Couldn't Be Easier

This latest book by "Infinite Possibilities" author and "Notes From The Universe" writer Mike Dooley is an eye-opener, and answered a few questions that I have not been able to answer myself over the last few years when working on the Law Of Attraction and "Thoughts Become Things" paradigm. Specifically, I have been stumped on exactly how to define and build the life of my dreams, and finding and following my "life purpose." Mr. Dooley took all the pressure off me by simply stating that "manifesting change could not possibly be any easier than defining what you want in terms of its end result, and then simply and physically moving in its general direction." Dooley goes on to explain that we get caught up in specifics--the "cursed hows"--and that by becoming more general (focusing on "happiness" or "joy" or "abundance") and moving in that general direction ("turning over stones" and being available), we then allow The Universe/God/Divine to take care of the "hows" and thereby end up at our requested destination.

Does it work? Dooley cites numerous examples, including many of his own experiences. I am convinced, and am working the plan. I guess I could best sum the theory up for non-believers by quoting a wise sage: "When you pray, move your feet."

Lights a spark inside me every time I read it!

I've read a plethora of self-help books. Some of them motivational (Anthony Robbins, Tim Ferris, Jack Canfield, James Arthur Ray etc etc). I've also read plenty of "Law of Attraction" themed books. From The Secret, the power of your subconscious mind, The Answer, and all of the Abraham Hicks books just to name a few.

Manifesting Change is by far THE BEST combination of motivational/self-help and spiritual Law of Attraction. Mike Dooley does a fantastic job at helping the reader wrap his/her mind around the impossible concepts of the cosmos. Dooley helps explain how to use the laws of the universe to grow as a person, and become everything you were meant to become...and guides you from a truly realistic and optimistic stand point.

Where some law of attraction books seem a bit far fetched and "woo-woo", Manifesting Change stays in a grounded place by:

1)explaining existence of "something bigger" through a feasible and logical standpoint. This is useful for someone like me, who sometimes questions (albeit rarely) the existence of Universal Energies and "sources".

2) Being realistic, and going beyond just sitting on your but and thinking about things. The secret, and most law of attraction books left the "action" part out of the equation. Mike Dooley explains actions, and also explains how to decipher the meanings of certain outcomes...for example, maybe you crashed your car so you could meet the other driver, and that driver knows someone who can help you in a certain situation.

To sum it all up, this book is something I would recommend to anyone wondering how to make their life better, how to be the best they can be....basically, ANYONE!

It's not Brain Surgery � So why is it so hard to do well?

"Knock Your Socks Off" is an easy to read, well-organized, thorough introduction to the crucial aspects of providing excellent customer service. I kept it on the corner of my desk and read it during lunch hours. The 31 short chapters (approx. 150 pages) can be finished in just a week or two. I intend to pass it along to the Customer Service Reps that work for me as "required reading" (or maybe even splurge and buy them their own copy!)
The book is organized in Four Parts:
1. The Fundamental Principles of Knock Your Socks Off Service - includes the RATER factors: Reliability, Assurance, Tangibles, Empathy, Responsiveness.
2. The How To's of Knock Your Socks Off Service - honesty, rules, doing the right thing, listening, asking questions, winning words and soothing phrases, telephone tips, writing skills, details, thank-yous.

Whether you're new to the business of providing customer service or a seasoned pro, this book will give lots of great advice and a positive perspective on the challenges of providing good customer service. I plan on using the book to help set goals and establish metrics for improving service at my company.

Unnecessarily Verbose

This book was required for a course on customer service. Most of the information I felt to be common sense, the remainder was written in too many words. This book could easily have been consolidated into far less pages than presently exist. If it was not required I would not have purchased and certainly would not purchase again or recommend. I would however contemplate the distribution of this book to those entirely lacking in customer service skills, but that is usually more of an attitude issue than ability issue.

Review of Delivering Knock Your Socks Off Service

As always, the package arrived timely, in good condition and and as advertised.

This is the best book of its kind that I have seen. The language is accessible and down to earth without being chatty or in appripriately colloquial. the book could be used at any level I can think of. The material is clear and comprehensive. The practice advocated is real world and sound. Oh, and it's readable. It's also broad enough to apply about anywhere I can think of. I don't think I'm going to need another reference or text for this topic.
